Is sustainability compromising the impact of people?
12 farms have been bought in Wales with four of those farms being sold to an investment firm in England. The plan for these farms is for the firm to plant trees in an attempt to help Wales reach their goal of being 95% Carbon neutral by 2050.
However, Many local people feel that the mission to build a national forest for Wales is taking away livelihoods for the local people. With one farmer saying he sold his land in the belief that the owners would look after the land for future farmers.
The investment firm has stated that sustainability is central for the business. However raises the question: should a business focus on sustainability over social responsibility?
